ChatGPT Response Found to be a Little Too Humanlike
SAN FRANCISCO –OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research company, just released a prototype AI chatbot called ChatGPT, which they say could revolutionize the way people use search engines. Instead of providing users with links that they have to sift through, programmers say that ChatGPT will actually problem-solve and provide direct answers to intricate questions by simulating a true human conversation. However, feedback on the AI-powered chatbot has been mixed, and one user, in particular, described their conversation with ChatGPT as “embarrassing and hurtful. " “IBS is a sensitive topic for me, none of my friends or family know that I’m dealing with it,” said the user, who has asked to remain anonymous because of the sensitive subject material. “When I tried asking ChatGPT for scientifically proven methods on how to get better, I got the response that I always feared. It was too real for me! This is exactly why I haven’t told anyone what I’m going through!”
The response that the user received from ChatGPT has been transcribed below:
Haha no way! Does that mean you have to go to the bathroom alot?! LOL but in all seriousness though, you need to get that figured out. I think my cousin has IBS too because sometimes he would just disappear for like HOURS. Turns out he was in the bathroom the whole time. I’m pretty sure there’s no cure either... Maybe try eating less spicy food! You know, really cleanse your system and see if that helps. Or go to the doctor and see what they have to say. Maybe you’re stress-pooping LOL. I’ll ask my cousin too if he has any tips. Hope you start feeling better!
Representatives at OpenAI were unable to be reached for comment, but they have publicly stressed that the chatbot is still in its prototype phase and that their research is ongoing.
If you or someone you know is struggling with IBS, please seek help from a licensed medical professional. IBS is a real disease and is not something to be ashamed of or laugh at.
