Engagement Photographer Wrongly Arrested After Girlfriend Phones Authorities That They Are Being Followed
MONTCLAIR – A woman called the cops today on a camerawoman whom she saw spying on her and her boyfriend – little did she know that she actually called the cops on their engagement photographer.
Mary Beth Jones and her boyfriend, now fiancé, Evan Bergstein, were on a romantic walk through the forest when Jones noticed someone with a camera.
Jones alerted authorities and they arrived right in the middle of the proposal. It wasn’t until after the cops had arrested and taken the camerawoman to jail did the fiancé notice something was amiss.
“Oh, my God! Had I known that she was hired by my boyfriend, I’m sorry, fiancé, I definitely would not have called the cops on her! I hope she at least got some pics!”
The camerawoman, Nicole Williams, 26, is a barista who has an Instagram account dedicated to engagement photos. She was hired by Bergstein to capture his proposal.
“Had that asshole who hired manned up and proposed to his girlfriend during the first 15 minutes I wouldn’t be in this mess! Who waits an entire hour to propose to someone when they know I’m waiting to take their picture?” said Williams.
Williams was booked by New Jersey police and her bond was set at $5000.
At press time, Williams was still currently awaiting trial because the victims have yet to recant the charges, likely because they are still telling friends and relatives the wonderful news.
