Man Considers Google Maps Suggestion To Drive Off Cliff To Save 10 Minutes Of Travel Time

DIERKS, AR – Andy Kim was driving to see friends for the weekend when Google Maps suggested to him a quicker route that would take him to his destination 10 minutes faster – all he would need to do is drive off a cliff.

“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t consider it. I mean, 10 minutes off my travel time? It’d be like my bathroom break never happened,” said Kim, who rightly decided to stay on his original course.

Kim isn’t the first to be directed to drive off that cliff to save time, however. The Dierks Police Department has responded to several single-car crashes where victims who drove off the very same cliff told first responders that Google Maps told them to do it.

“One guy told me he did it to save two minutes off his commute. Two minutes! Name something you can do with an extra two minutes” said Sheriff’s Deputy Mac Simmons.
