NRA Considers Itself Lucky To Be Holding Annual Convention In State That Has Not Had A Mass Shooting This Year

INDIANAPOLIS, IN—Today is the third and final day of the annual National Rifle Association Convention, and leaders of the gun rights advocacy group are relieved that the host state of Indiana has not experienced a mass shooting this year.

“We dodged a bullet this year, literally. The last thing we needed this year was bad press,” said CEO Wayne LaPierre.

Despite there being more mass shootings in America than days in 2023, including two more mass shootings on Saturday – one at a birthday party in Alabama and another in Louisville, Kentucky, the second one this week – GOP leaders cannot stress enough how guns are not the problem; it’s the gays.

In his speech on Friday, Former President Donald Trump said that if he were to win re-election, he would investigate “transgender hormone treatment” and the theory that it increases violence and aggression amongst users.

At press time, convention attendees were seen holding hands in prayer, hoping that the next mass shooter would be either transgender or somebody who smokes weed.
