Film Critic Who Watched Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Never Stopped Grinning
Closing off the year of 2022, all the clamor surrounding Avatar and “water” seemed almost inescapable. Millions of American standouts flocked to the theaters, not dissimilar to the way the Bikini Bottom residents flocked to the Chum Bucket in SpongeBob’s S1E13a “Planktopolis”. But one movie was unjustly in Avatar’s shadow.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish tells a little fairytale about the sword-wielding-boot-wearing Puss, who suddenly realizes that he is on his last life out of 9. His retirement plans come to a halt in a James Bond-esque callback mission when he discovers a way to restore his other eight lives so that he can keep saying “hola” to all his little friends.
This movie is family-friendly fun with zesty characters and humor for all, especially dads, because if you’re going to see a children’s movie, dads know it better have some quips. Don’t believe us? Try watching it on MDMA like our staffer here.
