SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER ARRESTED FOR DRIVING POLICE OFFICER INSTEAD OF THE GREEN
Louisville, KY – Louisville Metro Police arrested golf’s number-one-ranked player this morning, mere hours before Round 2 of the PGA Championship.
Scottie Scheffler, 27, was attempting to enter Valhalla Country Club when he was arrested.
According to reports, police were at the scene directing traffic after a fatal auto-pedestrian crash when Scheffler’s vehicle approached officers. After being instructed not to enter the facility, Scheffler still proceeded to drive through the entrance, dragging one of the officers with him.
Scheffler’s arrest is reminiscent of famous golfers who were arrested before him, such as Tiger Woods, John Daly, and the actor who played Shooter McGavin in “Happy Gilmore.”
Although Scheffler is still facing criminal charges, the release of his mugshot photo coupled with the fact that he wasn’t even late to his tee time has golf fans around the country saying things like, “Golf is so back.”
