When Told To Decide Between Two Options For Dinner, Girlfriend Said “Present”

CHAPEL HILL – A relationship between a young couple reached its breaking point today when a man gave his girlfriend two specific dinner options to choose between for their date night and she chose to answer “present.”

An argument quickly ensued, and neighbors ultimately decided to call the authorities after the boyfriend yelled, “You’re just like Matt Gaetz!” and they became concerned the couple might be involved in sex trafficking.

Authorities received a statement from the girlfriend who told them that she got the terrific idea of saying ‘present’ instead of answering ‘yes or no’ when asked to make a decision from none other than the US House of Representatives, her rationale being that “if a member of congress can choose to abstain from casting a vote and making a decision, why can’t I?”

On the other side of the floor, the statement police received from the boyfriend expressed his frustration with his girlfriend’s inability to make a decision and told them that “sometimes, she makes me feel like Kevin McCarthy. How many more compromises must I make?”

After comparing statements and confirming that no sex trafficking crimes were committed, police advised that the couple try and work out their problems amongst themselves and learn to communicate better than our congressmen.
