Happy Thanksgiving! Here’s What You Must Have on the Menu this Holiday
Dad who asks everyone what they are thankful for : Thanksgiving wouldn’t be the same if there wasn’t a father who asked everyone at the table what they were thankful for this year. No one is supposed to talk during the first 15 minutes of the meal – everyone is supposed to be stuffing their faces – so it’s tradition to ask this question before the meal. It’s also tradition for someone to say “I don’t know what I’m thankful for.”
Stress: It wouldn’t be a Thanksgiving without it. Everyone should be a little stressed today, especially the people who are preparing the meal. That stress from the kitchen should then seep into every single person in the house, and then disappear once the food is finally ready.
A family member who is known for taking all the leftovers: This is the part of the meal that happens after dessert and when people start packing the food up. They come running when someone asks if anyone wants some leftovers to bring home. Everyone knows that they take a lot of food, more than anyone else, but it’s just tradition and it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without them.
Family matriarch who keeps asking if you got enough to eat: This is a must-have on Thanksgiving day, or really any day where there is food involved. Your family matriarch should be going around the table asking everyone on more than one occasion if they’ve had enough to eat. It is also tradition for her not to have eaten anything herself, but that’s because she cares and loves so much.
Have a happy Thanksgiving!
